I am Dr. Rhamara S. Powell-Jackson, Founder and Executive Director of the Institute. My passion for leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and professional education is rooted in the belief that strong leadership has the power to transform individuals, organizations, and communities.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have remained committed to understanding how leaders can create positive workplace cultures, improve organizational performance, and navigate complex challenges with confidence, integrity, and emotional intelligence. My work is driven by a desire to bridge the gap between leadership theory and practical application, providing professionals with learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom and into everyday leadership practice.
I earned a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Organizational Leadership, where my doctoral research focused on the role of emotional intelligence in executive decision-making during staffing crises within public mental health organizations. This research strengthened my commitment to helping current and future leaders make thoughtful, evidence-informed decisions that positively impact employees, organizations, and the communities they serve.
In addition to my doctoral studies, I hold a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management and a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management. My professional background includes healthcare administration, organizational leadership, workforce development, program coordination, and administrative operations, providing me with practical experience in navigating organizational challenges while supporting leaders and teams.
